My Thoughts:

First of all, thank you to the author and publisher for the ARC and opportunity to read this fantastic debut!

If you're looking for a romantic comedy with some very steamy and erotic moments - this book is perfect! I was immediately intrigued by the synopsis of this book and once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. It's very Devil Wears Prada - only the boss is a really hot guy!

Alaric Canon is super hot but with a reputation of being a major asshole. Every personal assistant he's ever had doesn't manage to last very long, and there's an office pool going for every PA that comes and goes.

Emma Baker has worked for the same company for a year and has been obsessed with Canon from day one. Determined to get him to notice her, just to see if he's really human and not the asshole everyone thinks he is, she devises a plan to get his attention. But before she can even execute her plan, her boss drops the bomb that Emma will be working as Canon's PA on a temporary basis.

Emma knows Canon better than any PA that's walked through the doors. She has watched him and obsessed over him for a year. No one can do the job better than her. Except she doesn't want the job and this isn't how she wanted to get noticed.

Now she's faced with going on a business trip with Canon and playing the role of perfect PA, all while not being true to herself. And Emma will learn that there is so much more to the man who she is falling for.

Without going into too many details that will give away all of the greatness that is this book - I just have to say how much I enjoyed it! I loved the authors humor and writing style. It's written in a choppy way that is quick and makes it hard to put down. I will say that the choppy writing did become a little harder to read towards the end. But by that point, I was so happy with the way the book turned out and had fallen head-over-heals for Alaric Canon! Not to mention all of the butterflies I got while reading their steamy moments...the chemistry between these two was perfect!

This was a fantastic debut that I really enjoyed and I'm glad I decided to pick this one up! Make sure to get your copy when it's released on 2/11!

My Thoughts:

I seriously want to be a biker babe!  Loved this one!  Kristen Ashley reads are like my comfort food of romance. I always know I can sink and just enjoy! *sigh*

Lanie hasn’t had the best luck in the romance department.  Her sad story was detailed in Motorcycle Man, Tyra and Tack’s book, but there’s a good enough recap in Fire Inside that you don’t absolutely have to read it first. However, I do highly recommend it.  Lanie had a man she loved, Elliot. Unfortunately, he tied himself to the Russian mob and they ultimately took him out.  Lanie, was caught in the crossfire, ended up barely surviving, and emotionally scarred. Seven years later and that ugliness still holds Lanie back.

“You have something, you have something to lose,” I went on, slowly backing up. “You don’t have anything, you have nothing to lose.”

Lanie keeps her walls up; shielding herself from the pain she still isn’t past. Over the years as Tyra’s best friend, Lanie’s been to countless Chaos cookouts and gatherings, so she’s seen Hopper Kincaid, one of Chaos Motorcycle Club’s badass biker guys, around and in a moment of weakness, she lets her guard down and spends the night with him. An unforgettable night! What is supposed to be “just one night” turns into a lot more than she bargained for. 

I loved Lanie! She had class, and like most Kristen Ashley heroines, she had sass! Even though I didn’t agree with her pushing Hop away when they started out, I could totally understand why. Plus, she wasn’t completely stubborn to the point of frustrating, giving in incrementally to what she started to recognize as true and right.

Not a huge fan of his name, but it would be hard to resist someone like Hop.  He was hot, possessive, and protective (yes, standard KA Alpha male!), but also funny and laid back when the time called for it. Once Hop discovers the sweet softness in Lanie, he doesn’t want to let go. Hop was patient, determined to break down her walls, and make things permanent.

“Let you in on a secret, babe, and you think on this,” he told me. I was not going to think on anything. “Hop…get…off…me,” I snapped. His body pressed into mine so he could lift his hands up to frame my face. “I’m already in. Just gotta wait for you to realize it.”

Things didn’t always go smoothly and there were some heartbreaking setbacks, one particularly in the end.  How is it KA always manages to make me cry?! No worries though because as usual I can always count on an awesome epilogue with HEA! *sigh* I love the range of emotions stirred up!  Even though I LOVED the way Fire Inside ended the drama with Benito is far from over and I’m a little nervous for what Chaos MC will be facing in the future.

“Ford?” she says in an overly sweet voice.

“Yes, Ashleigh?” I look over at her with a dimpled grin.

“I’m gonna get you back for all this control, you do realize that, right?”

I reach over and grab her thigh. She jumps a little and lets out a gasp. “I never lose, Ash. Never. So if you think you can get me back by playing nasty with me tonight, then by all means, show me what a loser I am.” And then I slip my hand down her thigh and pinch her skin until she yelps. Before her hand can even move to swat mine off, I’m caressing her pussy through her jeans. “Do not come or I will tease you and withhold orgasms later.”

She holds her breath and nods.

I let up on the pressure. “Unbutton and unzip your pants.”

She breathes. But she obeys. She pops the button and the zipper makes a soft ripping sound.

“Stick your hand inside your panties.”

“You’ll get your wish,” I tell her with my eyes still on the road. “But for now—” I withdraw my hand and put it back on the steering wheel. “For now, you will pleasure yourself to satisfy me.”

“I’m going to imagine you doing it, then.”

“That’s against the rules, you should be thinking only of how much you will please me by following my instructions.”

“I don’t care, it’s my mind and I’ll picture you fingering me if I want.” And then she opens her eyes all the way and stares at me. I look away and concentrate on the road. “And you will never know, Ford. Because you’re not a mind-reader.”

I want to thump my head against the steering wheel repeatedly, that’s how crazy she’s driving me with this rebellion. That’s how bad she’s being.
