About the book
Opposites don’t attract. They ignite.

The small Montana town near the Kooskia reserve seemed like the perfect place for Juliet Montgomery to hide from her not-so-law-abiding family. But when her peace is shattered by a break-in and threatening phone calls, it’s clear someone back in New York knows where she is. It’s time to plan her getaway, and fast—but first, she needs to tie up a few loose ends. Namely, finding out exactly what the town’s sexy cowboy sheriff is hiding in his holster...

Sheriff Quinn Lodge has enough demons of his own to know when someone’s hiding something. Clearly, he needs to do a thorough investigation to uncover what’s beneath Juliet’s uptight, city-girl exterior—preferably one piece of clothing at a time. But when their chemistry goes from fizzy to full-on explosive, things start getting complicated. How can Juliet stay beneath the covers with Quinn, when doing so means blowing her cover?
My Thoughts:
After reading Against the Wall I knew I wanted to read the rest of this series and I was super excited when I saw Quinn would be the next Lodge brother to get his book.  Under the Covers was just as steamy as the first book in the series and delivers just what every romance reader loves a hot alpha male, a woman who can put him in his place, and a side mystery that will have you on the edge of your seat.

Quinn is the sheriff and he has had his eyes on Juliet for quite some time.  He knows she is keeping secrets, but assumes they aren't big enough secrets to get in the way of whatever they have between them. Juliet isn't who Quinn thinks she is and she knows that if her finds out what she is hiding things will never be the same between them.

When you have secrets in stories I think you have to be careful, too big of a secret and I find the character completely nonredeemable too little of a secret and I get the "who cares" feeling and want to flick the character.  Ms.Zanetti does a wonderful job with Juliet's secret and I was so relived!  I wanted to continue liking Juliet and I wanted whatever her secret was to be something Quinn could help with and not hate her for. When everything came out I was proud of Juliet for how she handled things and how she didn't back down from her past.  Sometimes things just catch up with you and she laid it all out there for Quinn to see. Was it a little late in the story, maybe a smidge but I have to give the girl credit for not backing down.

I really enjoyed the push and pull between Quinn and Juliet.  Quinn is the alpha male and I really loved him.  The one thing I wished would have been different was how his PTSD was dealt with. There is a scene between these two that terrified me, but it is glossed over and I think it deserved more attention.  I understand that it wasn't a huge part of the story, but it was brought up and when this particular situation happened it made his PTSD a big part of the story in my eyes.  I would have liked to have seen more development in this area.

Other than that though I did enjoy this newest addition to the Maverick Montana series and I cannot wait to read more!  I am HOPING we get Dawns story next, but I have a feeling it will be Colt's and that is just as good.
