My Favorite Non-Review Books for November

As a blogger sometimes writing reviews can feel like a chore so it seems I rarely write reviews for non-review books anymore. I fee bad about that, because it's not that I didn't enjoy them less than the books I review here, just that I don't have the time or energy to write a review for each and every book I read. I thought it would be nice to list my favorite non-review books each month to bring more attention to them.

Here are my November 2020 favorites:

The Thursday Murder Club was a five-star read for me, one of my favorite reads for 2020. The audio was superb! Retirement community residents band together to solve not one, but several murders. So many wonderful layers, both character and plot, and the story had me cracking up so much!  I'm so pleased the gang will be back together next year for a new mystery!

Lark turned me onto the The Peter Ash series.  Burning Bright is the second book which is even better than the first book.  Peter is a discharged Marine suffering from PTSD which has taken the form of severe claustrophobia. He feels a special call to help those in need of protection from the bad guys. He's quick, clever and a force to be reckoned with. These stories are action packed and fast-paced. Burn Bright was captivating from page one! Peter is introduced to June Cassidy in such a novel way, and I'm loving them as a team. Just finished book three this last week.

I read Emerald Blaze a couple of months ago, so this is a re-read for November. This is book five in the overall series, but book three (counting a novella) for Catalina. If you haven't picked up the Hidden Legacy series it's a must! There are writers and then there are phenomenal writers, Ilona Andrews are in the phenomenal category. I highly recommend starting from the beginning with Burn For Me

It's been years since I read Sleeping Murder, but it's one of my all-time favorites of Agatha Christie. I've read it so many times, and watched film adaptations, but this time I "read" by audio version which was fantastic.

Anyhow, I think I'll make this post a monthly routine. Maybe post the first week of each month.

What were your favorite non-review books for November?

    1. I borrowed an audio and e-copy from the library. You should give that a try. You don't even have to sign up for a card in person anymore! Look up your library online and then you can download the book through kindle and overdrive (for audio version). You can borrow for 21 days. Nice, right? Hope you get a copy soon! :)

  2. I don't review all the books I read either. I'm glad you loved Burning Bright as much as I did. I can't wait to read the third book in that series. The Thursday Murder Club is also high on my TBR list. :D

  3. Burning Bright is the only one I haven't read yet. The others are all stellar. I'm glad you enjoyed them. I often get library books which I don't review very often on the blog, just Goodreads.

  4. I like to read in a non-reviewer mindset now and then to keep from burning out as a reviewer. Fun to see how you liked those books, Rachel. I hope to catch up on Hidden Legacy series in the new year and Burning Bright sounds really good.

    1. That's a good mindset to have, and wouldn't be hard for me since I only grab up or accept books that I'm about 98% sure I'll like. The trick is trying to block out the date you need to read it by. I think that impacts my feelings somehow. I hope you get to the rest of the Hidden Legacy books soon! I think you'll love them. :)

  5. Its always good to get out of that mindset that we reviewers have and focus on some other reads there. I love the Hidden Legacy books actually. I am very curious to see where they will take Catalina's story with her yummy Italian match.
