Sunday Post #109

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week.

I was up in Central Calfornia Thursday and Friday and we got quite a bit of rain yesterday. It started raining in the middle of the night and it was so heavy and windy it woke me up and I couldn't go back to sleep. We decided to go to my daughter's on Friday instead of staying so now we're in Northern California. It's a bit cold, but beautiful as the hills are turning green now:

You can't really make them out with the photo this size, but there are five deer lying down at the bottom of the hill. I love seeing the deer and wild turkeys here!

With all the driving we did on Thursday and Friday my husband and I got through the audio of Alpha and Omega and are part way through Cry Wolf. This will be my third re-read of the Alpha and Omega series. I'm getting ready to pick up the newest installment Wild Sign, which releases March 16th. I finished the audio of Caressed by Ice for my read-along with Anne @Books of my Heart. Love the Psy-Changeling romances! A Stranger in Town was amazing! Of course now I want the next story.

Received/Purchased/Library Lend:

Two ARCs and two library lends. Excited for them all.

Nothing new.

  1. That's a beautiful pic. It's so green there! We have all snow here. :)

And I can't wait for A Stranger in town. I need to get that one next!

  2. Wow! That view is mesmerizing! I thought that was a postcard image or something. I'd love to take a trip out to that area someday.
Have a great Valentine's Day weekend!

  3. I finally saw a deers too! I keep seeing tracks near our house, but lol first time I saw one. Though better stay away in the summer, I do not need your deer flies!

  4. I just finished Caressed by Ice yesterday, and I loved it even more this second time around.
Enjoy spending time with your daughter.
    Stay safe and healthy.

  5. That photo is just stunning, Rachel! I keep scrolling back up to look at it. :) I enjoyed In the Penalty Box. It was sweet but surprisingly emotional, too.

  6. I love all the greenery and the pic on the whole. I am sure you enjoyed the drive as well. I hope you have a great week ahead.

  7. I forget what such greenery looks like. It's very grey here and cloudy. Beautiful picture! I hope you like In the Penalty Box. I thought it was really cute.

  8. That’s a lovely perspective down those hills.
I love that you and your husband are listening together.

Wishing you a great reading week

  9. This is such great news that you had rain as I recall the draught in California these past summers.

  10. I love the Alpha & Omega series. I just read the upcoming release good! Enjoy.

  11. Awesome photo! I woke up to snow today, but since I don't have to go anywhere in it I didn't really mind. And my copy of A Stranger in Town comes in next week! I'm very excited to read it. :)

  12. Such a pretty photo! Sorry about all the crazy rain. I have lots of snow apparently headed my way this evening.

  13. That is a lovely photo! I wish I was standing on that hill. ♥ Have a wonderful week!

  14. I hope you are enjoying your time at your daughter's, Rachel - The scenery looks beautiful and love that there are wild deer and turkeys! Take care and happy reading/listening. 🙂

  15. I love how lush and green it can get in NorCal through the spring and that is so neat that you got to see the herd of deer.
I wanted to re-listen to the Alpha and Omega series before Wild Rain, but I got too many other books (when do I don't) so I'll go in cold turkey and hope I remember where things left off after Burn Bright. Stranger in Town was great.
I got the new Amanda Quick, too.

    Have a good week, Rachel!

  16. Such a pretty picture. And a Happy Valentine's Day to you and yours.

  17. What a great photo! I love how you get out into these natural areas We just stay home but I like our yard at least. I was really glad I reread the Alpha & Omega series before Wild Sign, especially with also doing the Mercy Read-along last year. It really made everything clearer in my mind. Thanks again for joining the Read-along this year. It's been a lot of fun so far. Happy Valentine's Day!

Anne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post

Have a great week an happy reading!

  19. Thank you for that picture! It is so beautiful in Northern California. Caressed by Ice was so good.I need to find time to read the Alpha and Omega series...

  20. I love seeing Deer out in the wild and the ideas of wild Turkeys makes me laugh... That's definitely not something I'd ever see on a walk in the forest. :)

Hope this week has been a good one.
