Sunday Post #133

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week.

We've had some cooler weather, as in 70s and 80s these last few days and I'm loving it! I was able to go out running three times this week and it felt cool enough to work on the yard a bit. Bought some flowers to add to a couple of planters (see below). It's supposed to heat up again later this week, but we'll see. It didn't get as hot as predicted last week.

Read:

I only managed to get through one review book this last week, At Summer's End which was an emotional post WWI story/romance.  The rest were audios that I listened to on my commute, running or doing chores. It was a busy week!

Received/Purchased/ Library Lend:

Gone Too Far and Play of Passion are library lends, both audios. I read the first three books of Suzanne Brockmann's Troubleshooter series a while back. I remember wanting Sam and Alyssa's story, but now I'm fuzzy on the details. Also, I skipped books 4 and 5 by getting this one so I hope I'm not missing too much. Hands Down finally released as an audio, which is how I "read" all my Mariana Zapata books so I bought a copy. I hope to get to it soon!

Instagram:

Part of my SixBooksSoon reading challenge I was tagged in by @Carole's Random Life. Uncharted by Adriana Anders and Murder Most Fair by Anna Lee Huber are on the 2nd and 3rd slide (didn't have a physical copy to include in this photo).

Watched:

I'm a true crime junkie and I've burned through all the available Forensic Files so I'm onto 48 Hours, and more Chicago Med.

How was your week?

  1. Glad the weather gave you a bit of reprieve. How wonderful you got to enjoy the outdoors a bit. It's terrible here. So humid, you know, with a hurricane moving up the coast. Lots of rain but no wind which is a plus.

  2. Glad the temperatures have lowered so you could enjoy time running and pottering in the garden, but can we have some of that heat please?! this week I had a mini holiday to the coast, although it was rather damp and blustery! 😅

  3. Those are nice doable temps for getting outside and I'm glad you had a few good runs and time to work in your yard.
Nice stack of reads/listens you got through and fun seeing what books are on your stack for the challenge.

    Have a great week, Rachel!

  4. By the funniest of coincidences, I checked out Nalini Singh's Play of Passion from the library a week and a half ago. I haven't read it yet, but it's sitting at the top of my library stack. I love when bookish minds think alike. :D

  5. I love Chicago Med. I liked the other shows that sometimes do crossovers too. Chicago PD and Chicago Fire.

  6. Oh I've read all the Troubleshooters books and they are awesome. You are right that Sam and Alyssa's story is not to be missed. Yay for the Psy-Changeling catchup, they are so good. And I love hearing your thoughts on them.

  9. I'm jealous of your cooler weather. It's been in the 90's in Oregon the last week.

  13. Thank goodness for the cooler temps. You've had some brutal heat this summer. I've yet to read anything by Zapata - maybe I should go the audio route, too.

  15. My sister was at my house recently and she's been watching Chicago Med so we watched some random episodes. I've never watched it from the beginning but I do enjoy it!

Yay for cooler temps. It's been so hot where I live!
