Sunday Post #209

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week. I'm also linking up to The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance @Readerbuzz.

I was too busy to get a Sunday Post up last week so this is for the last two weeks. We left for Montana the Friday before last and didn't get home until this Wednesday at 1am. It was a fun time with both my kids and their spouses and kids (7yr old, 5yr old, 5 month old) in addition to some friends at the lodge we stayed at. Montana was gorgeous. It's nicknamed "big sky country" for good reason. Had moody clouds but also bright sunshine.

Unfortunately, I got sick (yes, again!) and I ended up with a sinus/double ear infection and cough. Not Covid, thankfully, but I've felt pretty rotten most of the week. Finally feeling better now after getting some meds from the doctor.

  3. Boo for being sick on vacation, but I am glad to hear you were able to enjoy yourself despite feeling crummy. That's so lovely that your family took a trip together. We tried that once when our kids were teens. It was not the good time with thought it would be, but my daughter and I have had nice vacation with my parents. I read Joyce's book the other day. LOVED IT! I hope you enjoy it too

  6. Montana is an amazing place to visit. We went there last summer. I was surprised to find some fantastic bookstores in the small towns where we stayed. Your photos are beautiful.

I hope you get over quickly whatever you picked up on your trip. I'm glad it was not Covid.

  9. I love that first pic with those clouds. Wowzers! Sorry you got sick though. that's the only bad thing about traveling... sometimes you catch something. :(

I need to get back to Kelley Armstrong. I feel like I've missed her last few books...

  11. Montana looks beautiful. I've been there skiing and with my parents many years ago when we went out by train. I hope you are feeling much better. You have lots of great reads. Thanks for joining me on the Read-along. You are up next for Trapped. I hope you will be able to join the chat sometime. It's always interesting.

    1. It was beautiful! What a neat trip that would've been! I like traveling by train. Thank you, Anne! I know! I hope to start Trapped next. As you know I read it years ago so I can't remember exactly what happens. Looking forward to it. I had a great time on our chat today! I hope I'm able to make the next one!

  15. I've only been into Montana once and had the 'big sky' impression, too. So glad you got to make the trip. What a bummer you got sick at the end. Oooh, those books do look great. I got a few of the same ones, too.

    Have a good week, Rachel!

  18. Montana is on the list of places that I would like to visit when I can afford to travel again (like I need a year where I don't have to pay for a wedding or multiple dog surgeries!) . I am sorry that you were feeling sick! Have a great week and enjoy your new books!

  19. I love visiting Montana. Great pictures. Looks like an awesome reading week. I loved The True Love Experiment and really enjoyed Identity too. I've fallen behind with the read-along, still have to read Hammered first. Have a great week.

  20. Absolutely gorgeous pictures, Rachel. Sorry to hear you got sick on your holiday, or was it when you got home? I also read and loved The True Love Experiment, but haven't reviewed it yet. I hope you are recovering and getting in some reading while doing that.
