We got back from Montana late Monday and I still feel like I'm catching up! We had a nice time with family and had friends over for dinner a few nights during our stay. As fun as it all was it's nice to be home, back to our quiet life.
The weather was very fickle. It rained several times but it was mostly warm and sunny during the day.

DeleteThat photo is stunning - what an amazing sky. And what a treat that your garden is so productive. Ours currently is a weed-infested mess. But I'm determined next year to have it looking a lot better! I've been loving the Robert Jackson Bennett series and have yet to tuck into A Trade of Blood. Have a lovely week, Rachel.

It's going to be hotter next week, so we'll see how it goes. Seems like when it's really hot they all get a bit stunned and pause. Well, my roses do anyhow. I've always loved gardening, but really only flowers, trees and shrubs. I did a little veggie gardening back in SoCal, but didn't have the space for it. Also, it was too hot.

DeleteI am glad you had a good time in Montana and that the weather is ok. Here this summer has been wafully hot and dry and all fruits are falling too early from the trees as they are thirsty.
ReplyDeleteI've heard about the heat waves in Europe! Summer is my least favorite season because i'm not a fan of hot weather. I do enjoy the flowers and veggies we get with it, though.

ReplyDeleteI was happy that the house we moved to four years ago had fruit trees! I haven't had fruit trees since I was a kid. Our peach tree is a little one, but it produced a lot of fruit this year. Fresh fruit in the summer is the best!
DeleteBlackberry Jam is my favorite. Dare I say, it is my jam? LOL. Ok sorry for being a nerd. All of your books look fun, especially the storm chasers one.

ReplyDeleteI had to look up "summer squash", and I discovered a world! There are so many funny varieties, too. Pattypans look SO cute! Do you grow those?
I like blackberries, but raspberries are my favourite in the family. I like their tart flavour.
I've never heard of that variety but now I'm curious! I'll have to look it up. I love raspberries too, but really any berry and they're so good for you!

DeleteI'm glad you had a lovely holiday, but I agree, it's always nice to get back home. I love seeing your completed puzzles. I have a few here, but haven't done any. Maybe I should get one out to try. Ouch, a 1 star book. Too bad, but all the rest look like you enjoyed them.
