The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week. I'm also linking up to The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance @Readerbuzz.
Happy Sunday!
It's been hot here! It was a 102 degrees here yesterday and it's supposed to be hotter on Monday and Tuesday. I guess summer is well and truly here. Nothing exciting to report here, just the usual work, garden, and chores. I did pick a bunch of blackberries and our peaches for canning. I canned blackberry jam, pickled red onions and pickled peppers yesterday. This afternoon I plan on making peach preserves to can.

How was your week?

It's hot here too, I hate it.
ReplyDeleteYep, I'm already eager for fall!
DeleteIt sounds like you’ve been busy! 😊 Fresh blackberry jam and homemade peach preserves sound delicious, and there’s something so satisfying about putting up the harvest. I hope you get a break from the heat soon. Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteYes! I agree. It's supposed to cool down a bit next week. I'm already ready for fall!
DeleteLove your garden and flower photos! I hope we all get some cooler weather. I'm listening to Brimstone Hollow now.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Thanks! I hope so, too. Looking forward to your thoughts, Anne. I'll be picking it up soon.
DeletePretty flowers - I love how hydrangeas dry out so pretty and stay colorful. I have some late summer bloomers that are white and then dry out to a pink hue. I hope the weather cools off for you. It's been cooler than normal by me. Happy August!
ReplyDeleteHydrangeas are so beautiful! I have some white ones that turn a pinkish tone as well. Are yours panicle? I wish we had some cooler weather! It's supposed to cool down next week, thankfully. Thanks, you too!
DeleteYou know I hate summer, but at least you have a beautiful garden from all that sunshine and you will have your jarred goods for a while too.
ReplyDeleteYes, that is true. Flowers as well. It's the only thing I like about summer, haha!
DeleteI love the photos of your garden. Stunning!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteSounds sizzling hot there. Ouch. Good job with all the canning .... wonderful ! And long live the hydrangeas. Your garden is so good. Keep the pics coming. Cheers.
ReplyDeleteWow, 102°! That is hot! We’re finally getting summer weather here in CA with temps hitting the 80s after being stuck in the low 70s.
ReplyDeleteThat’s a beautiful butterfly on the Echinacea—I always love seeing nature photos. You read some great books this past week, and I’m looking forward to reading your thoughts on them! Nice book haul, too. Have a wonderful week ahead!
That butterfly is gorgeous. It might be a Red-spotted Admiral like the one I saw in East Texas. Look at all your canning. You will have some good eating soon. I've been curious about Romantic Hero.
ReplyDeleteDo you live in Colorado?!?! Its been stupid hot here too and we keep setting records for hottest days and hottest nights. I'm over it! The blackberry jam sounds delicious tho!! :D
