It's been hot here! It was a 102 degrees here yesterday and it's supposed to be hotter on Monday and Tuesday. I guess summer is well and truly here. Nothing exciting to report here, just the usual work, garden, and chores. I did pick a bunch of blackberries and our peaches for canning. I canned blackberry jam, pickled red onions and pickled peppers yesterday. This afternoon I plan on making peach preserves to can.

Spotted this butterfly on Echinacea at the garden center. So pretty with that vibrant blue flashing.
Deadheaded some of my spent blue hydrangeas and they're still pretty!

DeletePretty flowers - I love how hydrangeas dry out so pretty and stay colorful. I have some late summer bloomers that are white and then dry out to a pink hue. I hope the weather cools off for you. It's been cooler than normal by me. Happy August!

ReplyDeleteWow, 102°! That is hot! We’re finally getting summer weather here in CA with temps hitting the 80s after being stuck in the low 70s.

That butterfly is gorgeous. It might be a Red-spotted Admiral like the one I saw in East Texas. Look at all your canning. You will have some good eating soon. I've been curious about Romantic Hero.
