About the book:

The author of Into the Blue and Fly with Me returns with the newest, hot and high-flying Wild Aces romance...

A year after losing her husband, Joker, the squadron commander of the Wild Aces, Dani Peterson gets an offer from his best friend, Alex “Easy” Rogers, to help fix up her house. Dani accepts, and their friendship grows—along with an undeniable attraction.

Racked by guilt for loving his best friend’s widow, Easy’s caught between what he wants and can’t have. Until one night everything changes, and the woman who’s always held his heart ends up in his arms. Yet as Easy leaves for his next deployment, he and Dani are torn between their feelings and their loyalty to Joker’s memory.

But when Dani discovers something that sends them both into a spin, the conflicted lovers must overcome the past to navigate a future together…

My Thoughts:
On Broken Wings was an emotional story of both finding love after loss, and of unrequited love.  I’ve been waiting for Easy’s story for a while since witnessing his yearning for the one woman he couldn’t have from the beginning of this series, and I was not disappointed!

Easy’s been in love with Dani ever since he laid eyes on her not knowing at first that she was the wife of his squadron commander, Joker.   Upon finding that out Easy resigned himself to loving Dani from afar, knowing he’d never move on a married woman.  Since the death of Joker it’s been both heaven and hell to be around Dani, thinking she’ll never feel the same for him.  But Dani needs him now more than ever, and Easy’s determined to be there for her even as it breaks his own heart.

Dani was drowning in grief, never thought she’d feel desire again, but the stirrings of it surface when she starts to look at Easy in a new light.  She’s always felt a special bond with him, especially since he’s been there for her during the roughest times in her life, but only ever thought of him as a friend.  Hanging around with him, taking comfort in their closeness gradually changes her feelings, and she’s blindsided by the lust she feels for him.

This romance was a slow buildup; something that crept up on Dani before she even realized and took root in her heart.  I cried several times, but I think my heart went out to Easy even more, maybe because I’ve had his side of things from the beginning; felt his painful longing for a women he thought he could never have. Unrequited love brings a special kind of torture, and I wanted Easy to get his HEA so badly!

I read On Broken Wings in one sitting consumed by Easy and Dani’s story! I’ve loved this series so much reading all three books within a week!  I hope this isn’t the last book of the series, because I’m not ready to say goodbye to this world yet!

Review: Into the Blue by Chanel Cleeton

Publication Date: July 5th 2016 by Berkley
Purchase Links: Amazon | Barnes & Noble | Kobo

About the book:

From the author of Fly with Me and the Capital Confessions Novels comes the newest in the sexy Wild Aces Romance series.

Eric Jansen—call sign Thor—loves nothing more than pushing his F-16 to the limit. Returning home to South Carolina after a tragic loss, he hopes to fix the mistake he made long ago, when he chose the Air Force over his fiancĂ©e.

Becca Madison isn’t quick to welcome Thor back. She can’t forget how he shattered her heart. But Thor won’t give up once he’s set his sights on what he wants—and he wants Becca.

Thor shows Becca that he’s no longer the impulsive boy he used to be, and Becca finds herself irresistibly drawn to him. But will Thor be able to walk away from his dream of flying the F-16 for their love or does his heart belong to the sky?

My Thoughts:
Into the Blue was soooo good, even better than Fly With Me! A second chance romance at its best!

Becca's hurt and resentment touched my heart, she was so broken hearted! No one ever came close to holding the same position in her heart after him, and so seeing him ten years later came as quite a shock.

Eric regretted his decision to leave Becca all those years ago. One of the reasons he's never returned home is the fear of running into her. Eric doesn't know that she'd ever forgive him. There's never been anyone like Becca in his life and he knows he'll never find another love like theirs. Can he win her back after all the hurt? He's determined to try.

I loved everything about this romance! I could empathize with both Becca and Eric, even though I was mostly on Becca's side at first because of what Eric did, I did see his side of things as the story progressed. I was never frustrated by Becca's reluctance at letting Eric back in, as I have in other second chance romances, because it didn't feel unreasonable. If the same happened to me, I'd want to protect myself, too. Their relationship was a slow, steady progression, which felt completely right. When they can't resist, the romance is utterly hot!

Onto the next in the series!

Wild Aces Re-Read Tour & Giveaway: Fly With Me by Chanel Cleeton

I'm excited to be part of the Wild Aces Re-Read Tour, even though this is the first time I've picked up Fly With Me (I'm a little behind the game here, lol!) because who doesn't love a sexy pilot?! I have my review below.  Also, I get to share the love with the giveaway provided by Berkley of the last book in the series: On Broken Wings releasing January 3rd!

Publication Date: May 3rd 2016 by Berkley
Purchase Links: Amazon | Barnes & Noble | Kobo

About the book:

From the author of the Capital Confessions Novels comes the first in the steamy Wild Aces Romance series.

U.S. Air Force fighter pilot Noah Miller—call sign Burn—loves nothing more than flying hard and fast. When he meets a gorgeous and sassy woman while partying in Las Vegas, he immediately locks on to her.

Jordan Callahan owns a thriving clothing boutique, but her love life is far less successful. Her luck changes when six feet, two inches of sexy swagger asks her to dance and turns her world upside down.

One scorching weekend becomes an undeniable chemistry that they can’t leave in Vegas. But the long distance relationship and their different lives threaten to ground their romance. And when the dangers of Noah’s job become all too real, Jordan learns being with a fighter pilot means risking it all for a shot at love…

My Thoughts:
Jordan's on a bachelorette party/getaway for her sister in Vegas when she meets Noah, a sexy fighter pilot and their chemistry is electric! The moment they lock eyes it's a whirlwind romance full of lust, and intense emotions. They both want more than just a few nights, to see if they can build a future together, but living in different states and dealing with Noah's military commitments make it a tough situation.

I loved that Jordan and Noah were serious about the future from the get go. They both were in their thirties, but just hadn't found anyone they felt enough for to take it to the next level. Unfortunately for them, they had a lot standing in their way. My heart went out to Jordan, because a lot of the sacrifices or changes had to come from her. Noah just had no choice, but he made up for that in other ways. It was evident that once you had Noah's love and devotion that was it; you would be number one whenever he had the choice. I'm not an expert on military life or what a wife/girlfriend would have to deal with, but Chanel Cleeton made Jordan and Noah's situation feel authentic. Some of what happened in the end brought the important things of life into sharp focus for Jordan and Noah. I think long term choices and considerations are very different when you have a loved one in the military.

I was caught up by Jordan and Noah's romance, lusty, hot scenes that made my blood heat and my heart pound! I totally bought into their fast, intense connection, and I desperately wanted a HEA for these two!

I'm so very eager for Easy's story! His painful longing for someone out of reach tugged at my heart strings! Fortunately, his story is out really soon! But Eric's (Thor) story, Into the Blue, is next and it sounds like a great second romance!
