Strapped by Nina G. Jones
Expected publication: August 1st 2013
Cover reveal organized by: AToMR Tours
About the book
By all appearances, Shyla Ball has an enviable life: a loyal boyfriend, a great job, and family that loves her. She doesn't realize how deeply unsatisfied she is until she has an embarrassing encounter with a handsome stranger at a coffee shop. Taylor Holden, a successful businessman, takes a sudden special interest in her and offers her a job she cannot refuse. Soon after, she learns there is much more to this intensely private man than meets the eye. He is hiding many painful secrets, including why it is that he has seemingly plucked her out of obscurity for such a lucrative position. Her "perfect" world is turned upside down by her infatuation towards Taylor and in just a couple of months, her life looks nothing like it did before. While she is frightened by the changes she sees in herself, she cannot resist the lure of Taylor Holden. As Shyla slowly gains Taylor's trust, she learns of his complex history and how it has molded him into the person he has become. When elements of Taylor's secret past resurface and threaten to destroy them, Shyla finds out there may be more to Taylor's story than even he is aware of. Strapped is a story of passion, manipulation, obsession, and family secrets.

Review: The Redemption of Callie & Kayden by Jessica Sorensen

The Redemption of Callie and Kayden (The Coincidence, #2)

Expected publication: August 6th 2013 by Forever

About the book:
The dark secret Kayden has kept hidden for years is out. Worse, he's facing charges for battery. The only way he stands a chance against the charges is if Callie speaks up, something he'll never ask her to do.

Callie knows Kayden is going back to his dark place and desperately wants to save him. But saving him means admitting her secrets aloud. Callie and Kayden are stronger than they think, especially when they're together. Together they move forward, face their demons, and finally start to heal from their traumatic pasts.

My Thoughts:
Received an ARC from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!

I can't even begin to describe all of the emotions this book made me feel while I read it. Not to mention I couldn't put it down. This was the PERFECT sequel.

If you haven't read The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden - then please read no further.

We begin book two with Kayden in the hospital and Callie is not allowed to visit him. Unable to tell the truth about what really happened, he's resigned himself to going back home to his parents house and keeping his pain and the truth buried. He is such a broken man that he doesn't feel worthy of Callie and her love. While trying to figure out how to deal with his demons, he pushes her away.

Callie is also carrying around a heavy secret that has traumatized her for the past 6 years. She will have to decide if it's worth confronting her past in order to heal and have a future with Kayden.

I just LOVE these two! I felt the horror and pain they went through and it broke my heart. They understood each other having both suffered such traumatic experiences in their lives. I wanted desperately for them to find happiness and make peace with their pasts. Their story is completely addicting. Through all of their pain and suffering, they found comfort and healing with each other and it was so beautiful. There is no major cliffhanger (THANK GOD), although the ending does leave it open for the story to continue. I saw that the author has put on Goodreads that there will be another book for Callie and Kayden and I can't wait!

I can't express how much I love these books. They are must reads!

Review & Giveaway: Wait for You by J. Lynn

Wait for You (Wait for You, #1)

Wait for You by J. Lynn
Publication Date: September 3rd 2013 by William Morrow Books
Purchase Links: Amazon | Barnes & Noble | Kobo
About the book: # 1 New York Times and USA Today Bestselling phenomenon.

Some things are worth waiting for...

Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago--an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe--please God--make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn't need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she's building for herself.

Some things are worth experiencing...

Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that's just so... so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

Some things should never be kept quiet...

But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she's has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?

And some things are worth fighting for...

My Thoughts:
Cam has to be one of my all-time favorite book boyfriends to date, and that's saying a lot because I have so many! Lol! He was patient, kind, HOT as heck, and sassy! He had me shivering, panting and swooning!

"You didn't put a shirt on." He cast me a look as he headed into my kitchen. "I know it would break your heart not to be able to see me shirtless."

You got that right, Cam!

Avery has moved across the country to get as far away from her past as possible. She had something terrible happen and instead of healing with the support of her family and friends, they turned their backs on her and made her a social outcast. When Avery literally runs into Cam her luck changes and her life finally starts to look up. Not that Avery readily accepts this. In fact, she does nothing but push it away. With the help of long-suffering Cam and her two newly acquired friends, Jacob and Brit she slowly starts to move on and start living her life again. But can Avery put the past behind her enough to grab onto the amazing (Cam!!) that's in front of her now? You'll have to read and find out.

Like I said before, Cam is just all kinds of wonderful! I was just gaga over him. Let's have him send you a shiver:

He placed a kiss to the corner of my lips and the other side before sliding his hand back around the nape of my neck. His lips moved along my jaw, trailing a fiery path to my ear. A shiver danced along my skin, eliciting a deep, husky chuckle from him.

Avery was a girl I felt very sorry for. I can't imagine going through what she did and not having the support and love of my family or friends. With that being said I had a hard time understanding why she pushed Cam away so much. I can see in the beginning, but IMO Cam really proved to be a real gentleman and hello, HEARTTHROB!! Even so, Avery was a sweet girl and she totally deserved someone like Cam coming into her life.

I look forward to the next book in this world which seems to be centered on Cam's little sister, who has her own damage to deal with. Can't wait!

It was pure enjoyment swapping spicy book recs with one another and hearing about some of the Fifty-type book parties our fellow readers organize and host. O.O

The highlight of the evening was clearly meeting CJ Roberts and having the chance to conduct a live interview with her while she took a break outside of the restaurant. She was hilarious and twisted in the best combination possible. If you missed that interview, be sure to go HERE for more details.

We both came to the event with our own personal book stash ready to have signed, but as always when we meet these authors and their book piles are in reaching distances our hands become grabby, and we walk away with more than we intended. Love it!

Blurb Reveal: THIEF by Tarryn Fisher!!!

Hello readers!! It’s no secret that we (Arlene, Crystal, & Rachel) are completely obsessed with The Love Me With Lies Series (The Opportunist & Dirty Red) by Tarryn Fisher.  SERIOUSLY OBSESSED!!  There’s not a week that goes by that we don’t talk about it or check up on Tarryn and her status’ willing Thief to be released IMMEDIATELY IF NOT SOONER!!  *deep breaths*

So I was beyond excited and hyperventilating when the lovely Megan over at Reading Books Like a Boss asked if we’d like to be part of the Blurb Reveal for Thief!! Yes, please, and thank you, Megan!!  We also have some exciting news to share so make sure you scroll down and keep reading!   Without further ado here it is:
As if this wasn't enough to stop your heart, rumor has it that Thief will be releasing sometime THIS WEEK!!  I know Arlene, Crystal and I will be doing re-reads of The Opportunist STAT and there's sure to be frantic emails and texting going on once we pick up Thief!!  If you don't know much about this series, check out Arlene's reviews for The Opportunist & Dirty Red as well as our Author Spotlight Feature with Tarryn Fisher where she answered a few of our questions, and was a bit cagey with some others, lol!
Arlene's Thoughts:
All I have to say is PLEASE LET THE RUMORS BE TRUE! PLEASE LET THE RUMORS BE TRUE! This book has to come out next week because I don't think I can take much more. I read The Opportunist and Dirty Red back in January, and I don't think a week goes by that I don't talk about Caleb, Olivia and Red with my book buddies or stalk the author.  I have my hopes as to how this series will end, but at this point I'll take anything... ANYTHING! So if you haven't joined the frenzy, now is the time. Be sure to read The Opportunist and Dirty Red by Tarryn Fisher so you can understand the madness that's happening right now with her fans. :D

Crystal's Thoughts:
*jumps up and down*  I want I want I want!  This is like slow torture! First we got to see the amazing cover, then the teaser and let me just say that teaser was incredible, and now a blurb!!  I'm seriously dying for this book and I am super excited that we were one of the lucky blogs to join in this event!!

Rachel's Thoughts:
Like I said in the outset, I was hyperventilating when I got Megan's email because I was so excited!! I literally was jumping up and down.  I'm thrilled Caleb is going to fight for Olivia. I'm nervous, and anxious all at the same time!!  I keep saying that if they don't end up together I WILL HAVE TO HURT SOMEONE!!!  Well, maybe that's a little extreme, but I can guarantee there will be ugly crying, angry crying, and throwing of objects! All I know is I've never been so obsessed with a series before so that alone has to be a testement of how amazing this series is. If you haven't read these books yet: GO, RUN, READ, NOW!!!

This week we are spotlighting:

Into the Deep

Into the Deep by Samantha Young
Expected Publication: August 13th 2013

About the book: Live young. Live hard. Love deep.

Charley Redford was just an ordinary girl until Jake Caplin moved to her small town in Indiana and convinced her she was extraordinary. Almost from day one Jake pulled Charley into the deep and promised he was right there with her. But when a tragic incident darkened Jake’s life he waded out into the shallows and left Charley behind.

Almost four years later Charley thinks she’s moved on. That is until she takes a study year abroad in Edinburgh and bumps into none other than Jake Caplin at a party with his new girlfriend. The bad-boy-turned-good attempts to convince Charley to forgive him, and as her best friend starts spending time with Jake’s, Charley calls a truce, only to find herself tumbling back into a friendship with him.

As they grow closer, the spark between them flares and begins playing havoc with their lives and relationships. When jealousy and longing rear their destructive heads, Charley and Jake struggle to come to grips with what they mean to one another.

And even if they work it out, there is no guarantee Charley will ever trust Jake to lead her back into the deep…

Brandie's Thoughts:
I've recently become a big fan of Samantha Young's work - and am super excited to get my hands on this one. It sounds like a book that I'm going to love - friendship, jealousy, longing, a tragic incident...I love an angsty book! Sounds like one I won't be able to put down and I can't wait to read it!

Rachel's Thoughts:
Like Brandie, I'm a huge fan of Samantha Young's writing and I was over the moon when this first got announced.  I have to say I'm a little nervous to pick this up because it has drama written all over it. I think Charlely and Jake meeting again while he has a girlfriend is going to tear at me the entire time!!  I'm not too worried though, because Samantha manages to get the mix of angst, heartache, and love just right.  Plus, there's usually a nice amount of steam, too!! Can't wait!
