Sunday Post #25

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week.

I'm back home this week, but going back up to Northern California on Thursday.  I've been doing my runs and preparing to do wedding flowers for a friend's daughter. I'm handy with flowers, (I love them!) so I've done several weddings for friends and my daughter's wedding flowers. It's a lot of work, especially since I work almost full-time hours, but it's a labor of love. Maybe should've thought about signing up for a half-marathon that's scheduled two weeks before the wedding, right? Jam packed schedule!

While  was a riveting read, I was left unsettled by the end. Especially by that last scene! Highlight for spoiler: I hope that comes to light and I would've liked more leniency considering the circumstances. End of spoiler. Two Can Keep a Secret was a lot of fun. Finally got somewhere with the romance in A Dangerous Collaboration! Now I don't have to throw my Kindle out the window! Veronica tried my patience in book two, but I think she made up for it here.

The Summer Retreat was compared to Robyn Carr books so I couldn't pass it up. Love Maisey Yates' romances so this was a no-brainer. Got my library copy of Artificial Condition.  The first book didn't knock my socks off, but I have hope.  Hot and Badgered sounds like a lot of fun!

Always a lot of fun!

How was your week?

  1. I wish I had a talent with flowers! It sounds like you're in high demand! Wow, you have so much going on with working full-time, the wedding, and the marathon coming up! I haven't read any books by Robyn Carr, but my mom really likes her books. I've enjoyed Shelly Laurenston. Her books are a lot of fun! Legally Blonde is a great movie for a lot of laughs. Have a great week Rachel :)

  2. I loved Two Can Keep A Secret! And I still need to read Watching You. I remember one of her previous books, The Girls in the Garden, left me a little unsettled too with the ending, so maybe she has a knack for doing that haha?

    Hope you like artificial Condition!

  4. What a great book haul! There are many there I have read or want to read. Artificial Condition is a real winner. It's been a long time but I loved Legally Blonde. Hang in there. It's easier to fit more in when you're busy. I don't know why it's true but it is. Take a little time for yourself this week!

  5. That's such an awesome skill to have, and so nice of you to do the flowers given your schedule. Gold star for you. I loved both McManus' books and can't wait to see the adaptation.

  12. I'm impressed that you can do wedding flowers--it does seem like a big job, but I could see how it would be so satisfying to know that you were a part of someone's special day!

  16. Oh your friend is lucky to have you helping her with the wedding! That's a great talent/skill to have! I love flowers too!

I wasn't a big fan of Murderbot book 1 either but I do want to continue the series to see if it gets better too. Fingers crossed

  18. Glad you enjoyed Watching You. And yes, that last piece of information at the end was really something. I never actually seen Legally Blonde. I know it has a huge following and there have been sequels and even a Broadway show... but I've just never got around to seeing it.

  20. I really enjoyed Two Can Keep a Secret! I wish the secret shared at the end had been made public, but it seems both parties were committed to keeping it to themselves. I think other people would have appreciated the information. Also, the unexpected family ties? Awesome twist! I'm happy you enjoyed it, too!
