The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week. I'm also linking up to The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance @Readerbuzz.
Happy Sunday!
We had another weirdly warm week, but the temps didn't stay warm long with the shorter days. It was beautiful in the afternoon and we spent some time sitting on our front porch. It was a busy week of appointments and I had to work yesterday. I think the source of my pain is a medication I was taking, because testing showed my gallbladder is normal. I've discontinued.
I had a massage and it was bliss! It's been a long time!
This week will be a busy one workwise.
The trees are finally starting to change color. You can't see the one on the right yet, but it turns red. The one in the middle, a Holland Maple turns bright yellow. We have a few dogwoods also, but they just started. A late fall here.
Starla tuckered out after staying out all night! The weather has been nice so we couldn't get Smokey and Starla in one night. Bad kitties!
Two fall puzzles!
Read:
Rogue Ghosts & Other Miscreants by Annette Marie & Rob Jacobsen-4 Stars
Didn't get much reading done because of all the appointments and Love Felt Like This was just shy of 500 pages! A little long for a contemporary romance, but it held my attention. Rogue Ghosts was for the read along I'm participating in hosted by Anne @Books of My Heart. I hope to attend the chat today!
Received:
Birth of the Witch by Nora Roberts
The Autumn Springs Retirement Home Massacre by Philip Fracassi
Takedown by Allison Brennan
Thank you to Macmillan Audio and Brilliance Publishing!
The Autumn Springs Massacre is available in e-book on Kindle Unlimited if anyone is interested.

Our weather is also unusual warm still but it's slowly getting colder. I will have to order winter tires.
ReplyDeleteWe're cooling down, too.
DeleteOur weather has been all over the place but this week should be nice. So glad to hear you will be on the chat!!
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Same here, but it's going to be beautiful in the coming week. I was happy to attend!
DeleteA massage sounds delightful. I have never had one, but it's on our bucket list..lol
ReplyDeleteIt was! Especially given that my job has done a number on my body! It was very therapeutic!
DeleteWhew! So glad no operations were involved in the pain relief mystery. And look at sweet Starla. So sweet. I don't miss Arkansas but I do miss the gorgeous changing of the leaves in the Fall.
ReplyDeleteThat's one of the things I didn't love about SoCal, the constant sameness of the weather. I love having seasons here!
DeleteFall weather is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteMe too!
DeleteWe had a lovely cool front Friday so we enjoyed some pleasant weather this weekend. It's supposed to warm back up into the high 80s this week. I hope discontinuing your medication helps your pain.
ReplyDeleteSounds like nice weather for Texas! Yes, it's helping.
DeleteYay on the puzzles - and more Nora Roberts! I just made a comment on the blog before yours about that but got a critical error...

DeleteWas glad to see you made it to the chat too! Yeah, the weather has been nice, then we had cold this weekend, but it will be back to upper 70s by the end of this week! Crazy. I do miss having a puzzle out in my library like I did at my last school. I'm trying to figure out if I can fit one in at my new library, but it might be a little bit more for me to deal with than I am ready for at a new job. Hope you have a good week!
ReplyDeleteYes, I'd think it would be fun to have puzzles out, but I can see how that'd be on the back burner with you still settling into your new job.
DeleteWe finally had some actual Fall weather this weekend. My cousin got married, so it was the perfect weather for a wedding!
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm sure having cooler weather would be nice for a wedding!
DeleteWe're still having 80F days here. There was one nicer day with a lot of clouds and then it heated up again.
ReplyDeleteThe 80s can be nice!
DeleteWe are hitting 60 so that is pretty nice for October here! I love when my cat sleeps with her face flat down like that. So cute! I was away this weekend, we visited my daughter for family weekend at her college. I'm still playing catch up.
ReplyDeleteWe've been in the 60s here, too. It's supposed to rain for a few days. I know the feeling!
DeleteYour cats are too cute! I enjoyed Olivia's last book, but her books are on the longer side. You know me and contemporaries that go over 400 pages. Someone at work asked me if I read that Lucy Score book, Things We Never Got Over, and as much as I have enjoyed some of her books, I cannot bring myself to pick up a 572 page contemporary romance.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yep, I'm with you on that. 400 or more pages for a romance seems too long. I don't mind if there's some mystery or suspense, but just a contemp romance feels like you're dragging things out to me.
DeleteWe have weirdly warm weather here too. And it is staying
ReplyDeleteWe've cooled down to our normal fall temps and the weather has been beautiful! You like the warmer weather, right?
DeleteYou must be continuing your beautiful days ... as I've been in the Bay Area / Marin on a trip and it's been Wow! Love it. But sorry to hear that your kitties didn't come in one night ... would scare me ...so glad they are safe and well. Your fall puzzles are dynamite ... keep them coming!
ReplyDeleteLove that area! This time of year is usually really pretty in the Bay Area. My daughter used to live in East Bay and the falls were gorgeous! Yes, I wasn't too happy they stayed out, but it happens every once in a while. Only Starla and Smokey. Peanut always comes in at night. Thanks! I always have a puzzle going. Have fun on your trip!
DeleteWhat a cozy week, Rachel — a massage, two fall puzzles completed, and a Nora Roberts arrival is a lovely haul. Fifty-four puzzles this year is quite the achievement; Sweater Weather sounds perfectly on-theme. Hope the chat with Anne went well and that the busy work week ahead treats you kindly.
