The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week.
I'm back up in Northern California at my daughter's house, and it's hot up here! Not as hot as down south, where it was 108 degrees at my house, but it was 100 degrees up here on Thursday and Friday. Today is a little cooler, but I still got out early for a jog, and looks like I wasn't the only one out early trying to beat the heat, lol. Turkeys a-plenty!

Total Control was entertaining but didn't knock my socks off. It's more of a novella than a full-length novel. The Wallflower Wager was my favorite in the Girl Meets Duke series to date! I loved Penny and her animals! The story was hilarious (animal shenanigans!) and sweet, and the romance was delicious!
Received/Purchased/Library Lend:

I borrowed a copy of Every Last Breath after reading Sophia Rose's review of book two in this series. The series sounds like my kind of read! I'll probably buy the audio book to listen, but I like to have an e-copy to switch back and forth.
Watched:
I watched Terminator Genisys after seeing the trailer for the new Terminator coming in November so I'd be all caught up. I didn't know it was the chick (Emilia Clarke) from Game of Thrones playing Sarah Connor in this installment. It was surprisingly good! I can't wait for the new one, though, because Linda Hamilton is returning as Sarah Connor!
How was your week?
More animal shenanigans please! :D I agree with best Girl meets Duke to date
ReplyDeleteWow turkeys everywhere haha! Sorry it's been so hot there! We've been cooling off here and I have to admit I kinda like it. Cool at night especially.
ReplyDeleteI kinda want to see Terminator Genisys- it looks fun.
Wow! That's a lot of turkeys! Hope you have a great week!

That heat is killer. I'm glad PR hasn't reached that where I live/work. Wow, a lot of turkeys in one place!
ReplyDeleteGenesis @ Whispering Chapters
That's a lot of turkeys! I loved Terminator. Especially when Jai Courtney starts yelling Sarah's name. That's my name and I love his voice.
ReplyDeleteI loved Penny and her animals too!!!! Its been in the 90's here all week and I am so done with it.
ReplyDeleteTurkeys? Like, wild turkeys? Just standing around? Thats... Huh. Is that normal where you are?
ReplyDeleteThey move all over the neighborhood, but yeah it's normal where my daughter lives in East Bay San Francisco area. They're everywhere along with deer. We have racoons, coyotes, and possums here down in Southern California. The turkeys were a surprise to us when my daughter first relocated a year and a half ago.
DeleteTurkeys in the streets are a thing? Who knew! Makes Thanksgiving Dinner easier to find I guess
ReplyDeleteHave a great reading week
Turkeys all over the place are a thing in Northern California. Lol! You too, Shelleyrae. :)
DeleteUGH 100+ degrees. I am ready for autumn. At least it is 80s here although upper 80s still. I enjoyed Every Last Breath. Have a lovely week!
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
Wow, that's quite a gathering of wild turkeys! I've been hearing such great things about The Wallflower Wager. Glad you enjoyed it. I've never even heard of Terminator Genisys! Apparently I've lost track of the franchise.
ReplyDeleteTanya @ Girl Plus Books
Yeah, I kind of lost track, too, there's been so many and a lot of them just mediocre, but the series was brought back to my mind when I watched the trailer for the upcoming release.
DeleteI had no idea California was known for it's vagabond turkey population. That's wild!
ReplyDeleteI didn't either until my daughter moved up north, but it's fun to see them getting about. My 18 month old granddaughter LOVES them! She says "gobble, gobble, gobble" when she sees them.
DeleteHaha, turkeys in the 'hood! Hope it cools off a bit for you. Whew!
ReplyDeleteCrossing my fingers you love Juno's books. Thanks for the review shout out, Rachel!
Have a great week!
I still get a kick out of those turkeys! Me too, it's supposed to be cooler this week. I'm sure I will, Sophia Rose! :)
DeleteOh these turkeys are hilarious! Did they chase you?
ReplyDeleteThey are hilarious! I love watching them. And no, they run away from us. Not sure what I'd do if they chased me, lol!
DeleteIt's in the 80s here. I feel the heat! Those turkeys look cool. And I'm curious how good the new Terminator movie will be.
ReplyDeleteIt's in the 80's here and I'm hating it. I can't imagine dealing with your temps!! I hope it starts to cool down, soon. For both of us! :) Have a great week, Rachel!
ReplyDelete100 degrees or more is way too hot. It's around the 90's this week and I'm dying. LOL I need my Fall weather STAT!!!
