The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week. I'm also linking up to The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance @Readerbuzz.
The week felt off kilter with my daughter, SIL, and the grandkids staying through Tuesday and the long holiday weekend. It was a nice visit, but a really busy one. My daughter and I love doing puzzles and did two while she was here and I just completed one on my own listening to Fourth Wing with my husband as I worked it.
I haven't felt 100% battling a sore throat and cough since they left. I slept in and stayed home working in the garden some today (Saturday).
The weather has been gorgeous, still a little hot at the top of the day about 80-85, but it cools down quickly. Fall is in the air.

Still behind on my reading. I'm almost finished with Fourth Wing and another book. Hopefully I'll get through more books this next week. I plan on staying home all day tomorrow (Sunday).

Visited this indie bookstore in town twice with my daughter and the grandkids. They had an amazing kids section. Thrilled that the grandkids already have a love of reading!
How was your week?
It can feel off-kilter when we get out of our regular routine. I do hope you feel better and get back-to-normal soon.
ReplyDeleteYou have some lovely reading in front of you. Enjoy.
Thanks Deb!
DeleteAww the puzzles look great! Hope you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteBookstores can be such a haven for kids, I love how there are s omany good ones now for kids.
Have a wonderful rest of your weekend!
It was such a wonderful place to visit, especially because it was raining outside. I knew of the bookstore, but didn't realize it had a whole downstairs section dedicated to kids. So neat! Thanks, Greg!
DeleteFeel better my friend. I love the fall puzzle. Regine

Thanks, Regine! I'm in such a fall mood so it was fun. :)
DeleteMy daughter loved the Magic Treehouse books. It's fun to see kids still reading them. I hope you are feeling better. Every time I have a sore throat, I think I have Covid again. It's terrible. What a fun way to listen to audiobooks - doing puzzles! Great multitasking.
ReplyDeleteI remember reading a few of them with my kids. They were fun! I'm thrilled my grandson has taken to reading so much. He's so athletic, so I didn't think he'd be the one loving to read.
DeleteThat puzzle is so pretty! Glad you had a wonderful time with your family and hopefully you'll be feeling better in no time!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm feeling a little better today. I think my supplements are helping. :)
DeleteI enjoy a good puzzle now and then too - it's been forever since I did one, so maybe it's time again now that the weather is starting to change - Once I'm forced inside more, I'm going to pull one out. Enjoy your books - looks like a good variety. Have a terrific week and thanks for the visit.

Yes, puzzles were so nice to do when we had a ton of snow and were stranded here with no power. You have a great week, too, Terrie!
DeleteWhat a fun looking bookstore! I love doing puzzles and listening to an audio book while you work one is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteI love doing puzzles while listening to books!
DeleteI hope the sore throat goes away Rachel! Here many people are sick and most with COVID again, luckily this is usually mild but...
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling a lot better now. I know! It's on the rise. I need to look into the new booster. I know I have to get a flu shot in October.
DeleteYou are able to do much harder puzzles than me. I'm glad you had the family time. I hope you feel better soon though. I did finish The Last Devil to Die last night and it is a winner. I'll look forward to seeing what you thought of Fourth Wing. See you later!
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart
Thanks, Anne! Oh nice to hear you loved The Last Devil to Die! I love that series so much. I'm loving Fourth Wing and so is my husband. We've been listening to it at night. We're just about done.
DeleteI love the puzzle, the dahlia, and the bookstore!
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
DeleteI went out of town with my mom for Labor Day weekend, and while the trip was nice and relaxing in itself, I still felt like I had a ton to catch up on all week and then this weekend. So I get it! That flower blooming is so pretty! I need to read Fourth Wing as well, bought my copy when I could finally find them again, but just don't know when I'll fit it into my schedule. You've got a few other books on my TBR as well! Have a great week!

That's a great puzzle. And Peanut is so cute! I hope you're able to get rested and feeling better this week.
ReplyDeleteLove that puzzle. I enjoy doing puzzles too, but it's been a while. I actually have two waiting for me. Hope you have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI have so many and I get on kicks where I work a bunch. Thanks, you too!
DeleteI’m a little surprised Peanut hasn’t destroyed the puzzle, my MIL had to get a big sheet of Perspex to lay over the puzzle whenever she left it alone cause her cat would destroy it :)
ReplyDeleteWishing you a great reading week, and I hope you feel better soon
He does sometimes lay in the middle and fusses with the pieces with his paws, but mostly he's not too destructive. He usually just wants my attention, lol. Thank you! You too! :)
DeleteThat bookstore looks amazing!! Fourth Wing is on my list. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was a nice find! My husband and I are enjoying Fourth Wing. Hope you do, too!
DeleteSorry to hear about the sore throat and cough. I hope it doesn't develop into anything! My library hold for Fourth Wing finally came in this morning so I plan to start it very soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tanya. I swear every time I'm with my grandkids they get me sick. I think I'm over the worst of it. Hope you like it too! Looking forward to your thoughts!
DeleteGlad the visit went well even if it put you off stride. Wishing you well, Rachel. Fun puzzles. I have four that I've got ready for the cooler evenings.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week!
Thank you, Sophia! I love working puzzles in the cooler weather. It feels so cozy. I hope you have a lovely week, too! :)
DeleteOhh I loved Dark Memory but then again I love that series.
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear that, Mary! I'm looking forward to it!
DeleteThat's a good looking bookstore. I hope you can get back to your routine this week!

I agree! Thanks!
DeleteAs much as I like company, I am often happy when they leave so I can get back to normal. My allergies have been crazy with stuffiness, sore throat and headaches, so I know how you feel. Enjoy your upcoming reads, Rachel.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same about company! Hope your allergies subside. I'm already on the mend over here. Thank you, Carla!
DeleteI love making puzzles too. Especially unusual ones and those with 1000s of pieces.
ReplyDeleteThey're a lot of fun especially with an audiobook in the background! :)
