About the Book:
They stole her dream. Now getting it back will take the perfect crime.
It’s summer in New York City and Faye Walker has it all. She’s not only scored one of the most highly coveted internships in all of Wall Street, she’s also just met the head-over-heels love of her life. With her natural-born gift for numbers and a work ethic that knows no bounds, Faye is a shoo-in for a full-time position at the illustrious merchant bank Greene Brothers Hale. Then, just as she awaits her offer and her signing bonus, a treacherous betrayal arrives to shatter Faye’s plans and her young life.
But what her high finance masters-of-the-universe bosses don’t know is that Faye isn’t like any of the other interns. Having made her way past her humble small-town beginnings, for Faye, going back is not an option. That’s why Faye now has a new plan. One that involves Swiss watch timing, nerves of steel and ten million dollars in cold hard Wall Street cash.

I don't tend to get hung up on believability, especially if the story is fun, fast paced, and holds my interest.
ReplyDeleteSame here. I don't mind it if it's entertaining.
DeleteI hadn't heard of this one. It sounds interesting. I also struggle with believability sometimes.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart
It was fun even if a little unbelievable.

DeleteThis sounds good and I love a clever heroine.
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy a clever heroine as well!
DeleteI like the sound of the heroine in this one, Rachel. As long as I know going in that it is going to be a bit unbelievable, I'm good. It is fiction after all. Nice review.
ReplyDeleteSame here. I don't mind it if it's entertaining. Thanks, Carla!
DeleteHappy to hear you were able to cheer on the morally grey heroine. Those can be tougher to enjoy if not written well. Hope you are enjoying your weekend.
ReplyDeleteYes, I was rooting for her. Hope you are too, Renee! :)
DeleteFrom the title this sound like the movie Inside Man.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of that movie. Must look it up.
DeleteI'm intrigued by the storyline, based on your review. Glad you enjoyed it even when it got a bit too fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI think his collaborations with Patterson are some of the better ones, so I'm intrigued by this solo outing!
ReplyDeleteI am about to start reading this one.
