The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week. I'm also linking up to The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance @Readerbuzz.
It's been a busy week with family coming up north here for a visit. My sister's son and his girlfriend came for a visit and so we had Thanksgiving day dinner at my sister's house, met up on Friday for lunch and shopping downtown, and then dinner at our house tonight (Saturday). I need to stop eating for like a week! We had a great time! It was a lot of work preparing. Lots of cooking and cleaning, but it's nice to have a push to get some deep cleaning done.
It's been cold, but sunny. We've been in the 50s for highs and 30s for lows. We're getting closer to winter! The leaves have been falling and falling! I did a fun puzzle last week called Raking Leaves. Appropriate since we keep raking leaves!

Took this before the leaves were gone.
How was your week?
How fun! Thanksgiving is so much work though, isn't it? I've been eating leftovers for DAYS.
ReplyDeleteI love New Yorker art. And White Trash looks fun. I've always loved those covers :)
It is a lot of work! :)
DeleteSounds like you were busy but in the best way. I admire you for being brave enough to shop this weekend. Glad to see Ex-Mas was a solid. I have a hold for that. Seems fun to me. We cracked the 30s and went into the 20s last night. Too early for that.
ReplyDeleteI usually avoid going shopping at all costs after Thanksgiving, but we had relatives up that wanted to see our historic downtown area. It wasn't as bad as I thought and we had lunch out, too. It was 26 degrees here last night! Cold! I'm not ready for winter!
DeleteWelp, now The Christmas Guest is going on my to listen to list for December!! And that puzzle is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy it! It's a quick read/listen that make you think. Loved working that puzzle!
DeleteOh, I love that puzzle! I'll have to look for that one!
ReplyDeleteYou can get it on Amazon or New York Puzzle Company.
DeleteReminds me that I stopped my promotional New Yorker subscription. Now they offered Vanity Fair for $5 for six months, but I later saw it was being offered for $8 for new subscribers, for a year! I many try to switch. Have a good week.

Hope you enjoy your new subscription and you have a wonderful week, too!
DeleteSounds like a lovely Thanksgiving weekend! All the cooking and cleaning is a pain, but then when you finally sit down to eat all the yummy foods, it's worth it. lol This year was my first Thanksgiving going solo and it was nice to just dump some chicken thighs and a box of Stove Top in a crockpot, crack open a can of cranberry sauce and be done with it. LOL
ReplyDeleteYour Thanksgiving sounds wonderful! I love quiet evenings. It is nice to have the house all spiffy and shiny now. After the dinner cleanup, this is. :)
DeleteI always feel satisfied when I do a deep clean before company arrives. Good motivation!
ReplyDeleteI like the look of the Ex-Mas Holidays. I'm in the mood for a holiday read. Unusual for me.
It was a cute story. I was worried I wouldn't like it so much because of a certain situation in the story, but it didn't end up being a big deal to me.
DeleteGlad your Thanksgiving went off so well and that you were able to get the deep clean done! Love the jigsaw:)). Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I love that puzzle. I'll be working it again probably during the New Year's holiday with my daughter. We're meeting up and she loves puzzles. You too, Sarah!
DeleteWe got snow on Thanksgiving. yay. (I'm SO not ready for winter.) But other than that it was all good. :D
ReplyDeleteSnow! I'm so not ready for winter either! We haven't had snow yet which is nice. We had snow last year on November 8th! Glad to hear you enjoyed your Thanksgiving, Lark! :)
DeleteI think we all need to stop eating for days after such days :-) At least you had fun! And the fall colors are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYes! Of course I say that and then I'm ready for breakfast the next day, lol! :)
DeleteI'm so glad your visit with family has gone well. LOL, lord yes, a semi-fasting is needed after my holiday eating. Love the leafy puzzle. We just finished raking our big piles last weekend though, there will probably be my neighbor's blowing in throughout the winter since they did no raking up. ;)
ReplyDeleteNice stack of books read. I enjoyed There Should Have Been Eight. Oh fun, you won a White Trash Zombie book!
Have a good week, Rachel!
