Getting home from Montana on Tuesday was uneventful other than having to wake up at 3am to make out 5:40am flight. My poor husband came down with bronchitis while there and spent a lot of time in bed. We were both bushed once we got home, but I had to unpack and water the property since it's been hot. Thank goodness my sister and BIL came over while we were gone and watered for us. We hope to have our watering system in place before our next trip.
It's been hot here with temps in the high 80s, but it's been cooling down to 40s-50s at night. We ran our A/C for the first time this year today only because we were having company here for dinner.

How was your week?
I hope the husband is feeling better. It's awful to be sick while on a trip. It's also been in high 80s during the day, 50s early morning/night here. I have to layer when I leave for work.

DeleteThe Shelia's Perfume rose is stunning! I love multi-colored roses, and that combo is gorgeous. I have one rogue rosebush in my yard that I refer to as the "demon rosebush," because it grows and grows and blooms, but gets ignored. I'm not even sure how it got there. I've always thought roses were fussy, but this one is not!
ReplyDeleteShelia's Perfume is such a great performer and smells wonderful! Yes, roses are pretty hardy. I have one here that I didn't plant. Not something I would've picked being such a low petal count but it thrives and blooms!

ReplyDeleteI've had bronchitis several times as well. A relapse on vacation in Europe (not fun) and yes, it knocks you down! It's the cough that lingers after everything else is gone that's terrible. That's where he is now. He needs rest and I've been giving him some golden seal and vitamin C hoping it'll help. The night time is always the worst! We had a great time with them!
DeleteYou have roses and other beautiful plants so soon after moving. I'd be exhausted if I traveled so much. I think Montana better than Texas since I don't like too much heat. You are reading some great books.

I planted a bunch! The garden was one of my top priorities moving here. To be fair, just the native plants here are gorgeous so I got lucky there. Montana is way better! Texas is too hot in the summer for me. I am exhausted, Anne. I always say I'm not going to go anywhere and I get talked into another trip. I just want to be home for a while.

ReplyDeleteThey are tough! But you get to your destination early and usually avoid a lot of travel shenanigans. Still, I'm beat after. We haven't had to have the A/C since, it's been pretty cool today but we're in for a heat wave so I'm sure we'll run it. We do cool down by night so that's good at least.

ReplyDeleteThank you! Were were in Deer Lodge, about an hour east of Missoula. It wasn't a hiking trip, but I did manage to get away for a hike. We were with our daughter, SIL, and grandkids. We go there every year, usually a few times during the summer with them. I enjoyed the last Kimi Grant book, as well. I was happy to get an audio copy. I've seen some mixed reviews so we'll see. I hope you enjoy your week too!

ReplyDeleteI've noticed it's been hot in Texas! I check the weather in Austin from time to time because my daughter lives there. Do you think the higher humidity makes it so you don't have to water as much otherwise? We do seem to read a lot of the same thriller/mysteries and I enjoy your take on them!
