The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week. I'm also linking up to The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance @Readerbuzz.
Nothing exciting to report. My husband was in Florida for work, and so it was just me and Peanut holding down the fort. The weather was nice in the mid 70s to low 80s, but we're in the 90s for this weekend. Not ideal temps for yardwork. My husband is running all the pipes for our irrigation, but can't work when it feels like 100+ in the sun. It's supposed to cool a bit over the next few days.
I managed to finish a couple of puzzles while listening to audiobooks. I binged the last two books of the White Trash Zombie series for Anne's read-along. I hope to join the last chat tomorrow (Sunday).

How was your week?
Love the flowers from the garden. Too hot for many flowers to proliferate here. Enjoy Storm Warning.
ReplyDeleteIt's been pretty warm, but not frying the flowers yet. I've been watering a ton. Thanks! I hope I do!
DeleteThis heat wave is so unwelcomed. We are predicted 99F for today, but I thought I saw some high 80s later in the week. When did high 80s seem like a good thing? Stay cool!
ReplyDeleteUgh! Summer is not my favorite season, but I do get flowers and vegetables this time of year, so I shouldn't complain. Thanks! I hope you stay cool too!
DeletePretty roses :D
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI hope the weather gets cooler for you! It's transitioning from dry to wet season where I live, and the rain is such a hassle! D: Looove the puzzle though, I miss doing those! We have a few completed ones hanging up all around the house. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think we'll get cooler weather for a while. It is summer, so that's not a surprise. Not my favorite season. Yes, rain all the time can be a hassle! I love doing puzzles, especially while listening to an audiobook. :)
DeleteIt's been awfully hot here, too. I have to stick to the shade when I am outdoors.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are gorgeous. For the first time in my life, I actually have flowers. We've been planting natives for a couple of years, and now I have some blooms on the plants.
Thank you! Flowers make me happy! I try and grow ones I can cut and enjoy in the house. I hope you share some of your native plants in photos, Deb! I love the bougainvillea I see all over Texas when I visit!
DeleteWe're supposed to hit 101 today. Ugh. It makes it hard to want to do anything. Here's hoping cooler weather is on its way! Have a great week. :D
ReplyDeleteOh, no. That's even hotter than here. Yep, it makes it difficult to do much unless you're in the shade. I have to try and get up early or go real late for a run. I hope you have a wonderful week, too, Lark! :)
DeleteYou always have such pretty flowers!! It has been terribly hot here as well. It has also been brutally dry so every day is a fire warning day. Enjoy your books!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Flowers make me happy so I purposely grow things I can cut and enjoy inside, too. I hope you get some relief from the heat and no fires! Thank you! :)
DeleteLovely flowers. I almost never bring mine inside. It's hot here this weekend but it's been very dry. I'm so sad the WTZ is ending because I love them. I look forward to seeing you this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Thank you! I love flowers, so I tried to grow things I can bring inside. The sweet pea grows wild all over so I clipped it on a walk. Yes, the WTZ was a hit! Such a fun series! I had fun in our chat today! :)
DeleteThe Sweet pea is so pretty! And I hope the weather won't be too hot for you!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sophie! It's hot, but not as hot as it was in Southern California. It's summer. What can you do. :/
DeleteGlad you had a nice and quiet week!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my Sunday Post
Rabbit Ears Book Blog: WORLD’S WEIRDEST BOOK BLOG!
Me too!
DeleteNice temps, 70s-low 80s. I finished A Novel Love Story last night and loved it. The flowers are pretty. Hope to see you in a bit at the WTZ chat!
ReplyDeleteLisa Loves Literature
Happy to hear you loved it, Lisa! I look forward to your thoughts! I was happy to participate in the chat today!
DeleteYeah, digging for water lines in almost triple digits is not ideal. I have been shirking yard tasks until the temps regulate a bit. Glad you could enjoy some puzzle and audio time. I just got a stack of puzzles at a yard sale and love to pair them with an audiobook, too.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Sweet Peas and roses!
Have a good week, Rachel!
Yes, we have to put work aside until the temps drop either early in the morning or late in the evening. Thank goodness it does cool down. I love puzzles! Hope you enjoy your new additions! Thank you! You too, Sophia! :)
DeleteThose roses and sweet peas are gorgeous! And I agree; it's too hot this weekend to work in the yard. I advised my husband not to mow this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI like your puzzle; that's a good thing to do while listening to an audiobook.
Yes, it's too dangerous to work out in the heat! Thank you! Puzzles are a lot of fun!
Delete94F here today but I'm chillin in my 73F AC and eating ice cream so, can't really complain. Sucks more for people like you and your husband who have sh*t to do. Like yardwork.
ReplyDeleteThose flowers are gorgeous!
Yes, we set the thermostat to 74 and that makes it pretty comfortable inside. It cools way down in the evening so we don't have to run the A/C at night. Hope you enjoy the AC and ice cream! Perfect plan for the summer! Thank you, Jinger!
DeleteI'm glad your husband isn't out their doing irrigation work in the soaring temps! That can be so dangerous. I feel for those that work in roofing, landscaping, construction, etc during these hottest months. So miserable. Your sweet peas are so pretty. :) I'm currently listening to Home is Where the Bodies Are after seeing your review recently. I'm only 20% in or so but enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteI feel so bad for those who have to work outdoors too! Yes, it is dangerous! Thanks! I hope you enjoy it and look forward to your thoughts!
DeleteIt has been so hot here as well.
ReplyDeleteThe Nature of Disappearing looks great as does Storm Warning and Hermit Next Door.
I guess it's to be expected being that it's summer. Not my favorite season. Nature of Disappearing was really good and I'm looking forward to Storm Warning and Hermit Next Door!
DeleteYour roses are gorgeous! It's been too hot here for anything too. We did finally get the work started on the house to address all the storm damage from April. Insurance company finally approved what we needed, so we started with siding last week. The hardest part now is just picking out colors for paint and the roof!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Happy to hear you finally got insurance to cover the storm damage. Fighting with insurance companies is no fun!
DeleteIt's been really hot here too. I don't want to be out in it.
ReplyDeleteYes, we just stay in during the hot parts of the day. Thank goodness for AC!
DeleteBeautiful roses! I'm curious about the David Bell thriller.
ReplyDeleteI love that read list from last week
ReplyDeleteIt was good!
DeleteLovely Insta post with the mountains in the background, wow. I hope it's cooled there ... and such lovely flowers. You have the best roses. and that puzzle is exquisite.
