My Thoughts:
Oh, this was so good, I was completely swept away.

Carrie and Johan meet, and the connection between them is instant, magnetic, impossible to resist. What follows is a whirlwind romance with that rare feeling of being truly seen by another person. They run off to Thailand together, marry on the beach, and then, in a single devastating moment, Johan is taken by militia.

Carrie does her best to move forward. She builds a life, marries again, has twins… but that brief, brilliant chapter of her past never stops haunting her. It’s a wound full of unanswered questions, and the ache of what might have been.

The One Day You Were My Husband is a heartbreaking blend of romance, mystery, betrayal, and gasp‑worthy twists. I was on the edge of my seat as Carrie’s story unfolded through Rosie Walsh’s gorgeous, lyrical prose. The ending is messy and wonderful! Exactly what I hoped for, and wholly earned by the characters.

A stunning, emotional read that lingers long after the final page.

My Thoughts:
Lila’s life is not what she pictured for herself at forty-two. Her husband left her for the neighbor down the street, her stepfather has moved in after her mother died in a tragic accident.  Lila’s house is constantly in need of repair, and her biological father, Gene, an eccentric, attention-seeking actor, has just shown up needing a place to stay. As if all of that isn’t enough, Lila sees the woman her husband left her for everyday at her daughter’s school pickup.

I was outraged for Lila and completely rooted for her! At the same time, she wasn’t perfect either. She made mistakes, as most of us do. There’s a romance with some bumps and I hoped it’d all work out!

We also have the POV of Lila’s sixteen-year-old daughter, Celie, who is going through some tough times, too. I loved that Gene, Lila’s MIA bio-dad, form a bond, and he helps with some of her trials. Gene definitely had a lot to answer for, but I couldn’t help but have a soft spot for him, especially when we get some that last insight.

We All Live Here portrayed a slice of messy, relatable life, and I felt all the emotions acutely! I was angry, I laughed and cried, but the story left me in such a wonderful place of joy and hope! A definite recommend!

My Thoughts:
Emma and Leo have been married for ten years, have precious little girl, and are still gloriously in love. However, Emma went through cancer and so their lives have been up and down not knowing if she’d be alright. With the cancer scare behind them the future seems bright ahead. Leo, a newspaper obituary writer, feels more at ease coming up with a stock obituary write up on Emma, a norm to have on hand for famous people. I had no idea this was a thing, but apparently it is, and I can understand why as it was expounded on here. It was interesting to learn about.

Emma isn’t super famous, but she did garner a lot of attention when she filmed a TV series on marine biology for two seasons, and she still gets attention and fan messaging from it. However, when Leo starts to list her accomplishments and history, he realizes that there’s a lot about Emma he’s fuzzy about. As he digs, he finds a lot of inconsistencies, and things don’t add up and it's jarring!

Emma’s past is coming back to haunt her. Can she keep the family she loves so dearly when all is revealed? I really liked Emma, so I certainly hoped so!

It’s difficult to write a review without spoiling things here. It’s a story I wholeheartedly recommend, though.  When all was revealed my heart broke! I was infuriated with a certain character! How could he/she?!!  I hope some there was some kind of punishment or reckoning for that person. I guess so many years later what can you do? I was happy with how it all turned out which isn’t always the case for me with mystery/thrillers.

The Love of My Life is a Good Morning America Book Club Pick, which isn’t surprising as it was captivating and hard to put down!

I have held you at night for ten years and I didn't even know your name. We have a child together. A dog, a house.

Who are you?

Emma loves her husband Leo and their young daughter Ruby: she’d do anything for them. But almost everything she's told them about herself is a lie.

And she might just have got away with it, if it weren’t for her husband’s job. Leo is an obituary writer; Emma a well-known marine biologist. But as he starts to unravel the truth, he discovers the woman he loves doesn’t really exist. Even her name isn’t real.

When the very darkest moments of Emma’s past finally emerge, she must somehow prove to Leo that she really is the woman he always thought she was . . .
