Sunday Post #30

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week.

Hope everyone is enjoying the three-day weekend!  I'm late posting again this Sunday since I've been running around doing last minute prep for a wedding this coming Saturday.  It's up North and I'm doing the flowers, so packing, ironing and last minute checking of details. We leave Wednesday after work to take a 4 1/2 hour drive.

Read:

Luck of the Draw was a fast fun romantic suspense/mystery.  I'll have my review up tomorrow (maybe).  The Dark Bones was fantastic, but Loreth Anne White rarely disappoints. The publisher is sponsoring a giveaway, too: HERE

Received/Purchased/Library Lend:
(click on cover for goodreads link)

I've already read Diamond Fire and Watcher in the Woods but I bought the audio books because my husband hadn't read these installments yet (he's a fan of both Hidden Legacy & The Rockton series) and we've had long drives. We've listened to most of Watcher in the Woods and it's been excellent! Therese Plummer is one of my all-time favorite narrators. We should finish Wednesday night on our drive up north, and then start Diamond Fire, which I loved! You'd Be Mine is an audio library lend, and How to Catch a Wicked Viscount was sent to me by the publisher. Has anyone read Amy Rose Bennett? She's a new to me author.

Watched:

I love wine and wine tasting so Wine Country looked like my kind of movie. I had some laughs. Tina Fey made the movie even though she didn't have much screen time. Loved the scenery.  I've watched The Martian when it came out in the movies.  Both my husband and I read the book and loved it. He was a little disappointed by the screen version at the time, but it was on TV and so we watched it again and he liked it much better this time around. I thought they did a great job adapting the book to movie.

I have a 3 book giveaway I just put up yesterday if you're interested HERE.

How was your week?

  4. How exciting that you have a wedding celebration coming up! I would love to see some pics of your flower arrangements :). I think it's so neat that you and your husband share your love of reading with one another by reading some of the same books and listening to audiobooks together. My husband isn't much of a reader. I like the cover for Diamond Fire! I can't wait to see what you thought of it! I hope you have a wonderful week Rachel and get to enjoy the three day weekend!

I do like Ilona Andrews and Kelly Armstrong, I haven’t read anything by the other authors though.

Have a great reading week, and drive safely!

  12. I'm using the long weekend to catch up around the blogosphere, although as I type this the sun is shining outside so perhaps I should stop for a while. ;-)

I've only read Ilona Andrews' Innkeeper Chronicles, I should really catch up on their other series.

I hope you have a great week, Rachel and enjoy your reads.

  14. I hope you enjoy the wedding!

Diamond Fire is on my read list for June... I bought it back in November but didn't read it. Probably a good thing as I know I'll want to go onto Sapphire Flames without delay, lol. Maybe I should put it off until August? Hmmm.

You'd Be Mine is on my TBR... I keep watching that one.
