My
Thoughts:
Ivan Mercant never counted on falling in love, Silence never
allowed for such a thing and then there is his leashed ability. But that was
before meeting Lei, the vibrant, colorful woman, playful and full of love. However,
just as he’s about to embrace this unexpected path, Lei disappears. It seems
that’s a good thing because Ivan’s ability is harder and harder to control, and
his only solution is to cage himself permanently.
Lei is on a mission since her pack was obliterated and it
takes her straight to the heart of the Dark River Leopard’s territory. However,
while there her inner animal sees Ivan and everything changes.
Ivan is part of the close-knit Merchant family, famed for
being ruthless, protective and perfectly Silent. That was until Silence fell
and now most know they are fiercely loyal with family being everything to them.
Grandmother Ena Merchant is protective of all she claims as family so Ivan’s got
another thing coming if he thinks he can just shut himself down forever.
Storm Echo was so so good! I’ve been loving the Psy-Trinity
spinoff, but this has to be one of my favorites of the series. Love the Merchant
family! This supposedly “Silent” clan is anything but! With hearts so big and
full of love for each other and all the people they’ve been acquiring into the
family through romance and extended connections. Loved getting mentions of the
Bears and cameos of Kaleb, Lucas, Sasha, Tamsyn, and Nate! I was so excited
with how it all turned out and what it could mean for the future of the Psy-Net!
4.5 Stars
Silence has fallen. The Psy are free to feel emotion. Free to love. But Silence was never a prison for Ivan Mercant. The biggest threat to his future lies dormant in his brain—a psychic monster that wants only to feed. And now, the brutal leash he’s kept on that monster is slipping. He prepared for this day, for the end of Ivan Mercant . . . but that was before he met Lei.
As primal as she is human, this wild changeling brings color into his life, laughter to his soul. Then the dream shatters in a rain of blood, in silent bodies in the snow. Lei is gone. Vanished without a trace . . . until he meets strangely familiar eyes across a busy San Francisco street.
Soleil Bijoux Garcia is a healer who has lost everything. She exists in a world of desolate aloneness . . . till the day she finds herself face-to-face with a lethal stranger. The animal who is her other half knows this man, but her memories are tattered fragments. Sorrow and a need for vengeance are all that drive her. Her mission? To kill the alpha of the DarkRiver leopard pack.
But fate has other plans. Soon, a deadly soldier who believes himself a monster and a broken healer might be all that stand between life and death for the entire Psy race.

I've got a long way to go, but I'm excited to get to this spin-off series!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited for you to get to the later books, Tanya! Like Kaleb and Sahara and Hawke and Sierra's books! They just get better as you go!
DeleteI was so surprised by your final paragraph because the early description made me feel this was a bit dark, gritty, but a big loving family can't be beat.
