Sunday Post #186

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week.

Hope everyone had a nice holiday! I spent Thursday morning making pies and then we went to a friend's house for dinner with my sister and her husband. I'm still full, lol! Friday was a beautiful day weather-wise and my cat was living his best life, in and out of the house because it was warm enough to have a few adventures out there. Today (Saturday) we traveled to another couple/friend's house (they just bought and are in the process of a major renovation), about an hour away, and my husband helped with a bunch of things while us wives visited. We went to lunch and got home about 8:30pm. Tomorrow (Sunday) I have a flowers to plant and the hubby is installing kitchen pendants.

I finally have our bathroom pictures to post. Before and afters:

  6. Wow! That is quite the glow-up with that bathroom. I admire all homeowners who can see beyond what is before them. Glad to hear the cat is living his best life too. LOL

    1. It seems shinier in the photos than in person, lol! Yep, he is living his best life when he can be out hunting (if it moves, it must die) but he doesn't like being out when it's cold.

  10. You're so busy and your husband is such a handy helper. I love the clean look of the new bathroom but the old one wasn't bad. Although the tiled countertops would not be nice. Thanks for sharing the photos! It's great you are settling in and getting things the way you want them. I see you are reading the new PJ Tracy series. It's different.

    1. You're so busy, too, Anne! You get a lot accomplished all the time. The old bathroom wouldn't have been terrible, but the mold and rot in the floor, behind the bathtub, and the peeling wallpaper made a reno inevitable. We knew going in so that was okay.

I agree, the new P.J. Tracy series is different, but I think I'm getting it now. The relationships and such. It think it's going to be a bit like Monkeywrench in that there's a whole host of characters, friends, solving mysteries together. We'll see. Hope we both enjoy the next one.

  11. Oooo the new walls and floors!!!! Love!!! And the two individual mirrors look much nicer than one long mirror! I would've never thought to break it up like that. Good eye!

Ahhh you're lucky your cat is taking advantage of the warm weather. Warm weather or not, mine has decided she prefers to live her life on my lap, which I love, but right now she is killing my legs with her heavy self. LOL

    1. Yeah, the old bathroom couldn't be saved with mold, rot and peeling wallpaper. It took me forever to get that stuff off! Marilyn is a smart kitty, lol!

  16. Wow beautiful remodel! I have 3 bathrooms to re-do in a house we're moving into ... and I'm not looking forward to it. But I think it will be years down the road. too expensive with everything else. !

    1. It is so expensive! If it's working well and no water damage it's not a big thing to do over time. Good luck with your renovations!
