Sunday Post #238

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week. I'm also linking up to The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance @Readerbuzz.

We had a quiet week here with a lot of rain, just over three inches here. Last night we went out with my sister and her husband to a new (to us) restaurant called The Stonehouse, built in 1857, the place was full of historic charm. Their homemade pasta and woodfired pizzas were delicious!

Today the weather was nice, warm for winter here so we went on a hike, then went to the hardware store and I bought some primrose to plant in the pots out in front of our porch. I've been working a puzzle while listening to an audiobook.

  1. Your Deer Creek hike looks amazing. It has been raining here. I wouldn't want to be out hiking on a day like this.

  2. Hiking in a beautiful wooded area looks fabulous. We still have very unappealing weather. We hope to see the sun in around a week (yep, it's really gloomy).

    1. That's surprising it's still so cold in Texas. We've been having some unseasonably warmer days here and I'm taking advantage. Hard to go wrong with Allison Brennan!

    1. I hope to listen to it soon! The primrose is pretty and mine came back after a harsh winter so I thought I'd plant some more. They smell wonderful too! Hope your primrose do well!

  10. It definitely has been a warmer winter than I would like it to be. Just means our summer won't be fun. But glad you got to get outside and do some fun things there.

  14. We had lots of rain and ice this week, but I was glad to get out a couple days in my shirt sleeves to enjoy working in the yard (mostly clean up from the ice storm). Your hike sounds great and the pictures are lovely.
Yay for finding a restaurant with good food and character.

    Have a good week, Rachel!

    1. The weather goes from one extreme to the other it seems. Glad you got to take advantage and get outdoors too, Sophia! You too! :)

  15. I'm glad you were able to get out and enjoy the outdoors. It's way too cold here to do the same. Plus, we're dealing with inversion right now so our air quality is horrible.

I've thought of doing a puzzle while listening to an audiobook but I'm afraid I'll keep not paying attention. Anyway, have a great week!
