Review: Wallbanger by Alice Clayton

Wallbanger
Wallbanger by Alice Clayton

About the book
Caroline Reynolds has a fantastic new apartment in San Francisco, a KitchenAid mixer, and no O (and we’re not talking Oprah here, folks). She has a flourishing design career, an office overlooking the bay, a killer zucchini bread recipe, and no O. She has Clive (the best cat ever), great friends, a great rack, and no O.

Adding insult to O-less, since her move, she has an oversexed neighbor with the loudest late-night wallbanging she’s ever heard. Each moan, spank, and–was that a meow?–punctuates the fact that not only is she losing sleep, she still has, yep, you guessed it, no O.

Enter Simon Parker. (No, really, Simon, please enter.) When the wallbanging threatens to literally bounce her out of bed, Caroline, clad in sexual frustration and a pink baby-doll nightie, confronts her heard-but-never-seen neighbor. Their late-night hallway encounter has, well, mixed results. Ahem. With walls this thin, the tension’s gonna be thick…

In her third novel, Alice Clayton returns to dish her trademark mix of silly and steamy. Banter, barbs, and strutting pussycats, plus the sexiest apple pie ever made, are dunked in a hot tub and set against the gorgeous San Francisco skyline in this hot and hilarious tale of exasperation at first sight.

My Thoughts
Wallbanger was a hilarious and all-consuming read that I enjoyed from the first page all the way to the final chapter!

It's been a while since I have broken away from the YA genre and submerged myself in a fun, snarky, humorous, and steamy book. Wallbanger was the perfect choice too! There were so many laugh-out-loud moments that added a ton of enjoyment to this reading experience. Just sitting here thinking about what to say about this story, I can't help but just laugh at the comical moments and the hilarious insight the protagonist brought to this story. That darn O! Yes, you're going to have to read the book to figure out what I mean by that. ;)

I could go on and on about so many aspects throughout this story that had me doubled over in hytsterics. Besides the humor woven into this adult read, there was an exceptionally good story wrapped around a well developed plot. I have to mention Clive, the protagonist's cat. That darn cat was one of a kind and added a cute element to the book. :)

The story was easy to fall into with such perfectly paced flow from beginning to end. The characters! Oh my, the characters...They were well "developed." Need I say more? And Simon, aka "Wallbanger" The smoldering sexy neighbor *sigh* He's one you won't forget.

I definitely recommend Wallbanger to those readers looking to fall into something light and funny. Great read!

  4. I really enjoyed reading your review. And yes, I;m going to have to read this. Being that I like when couples fight, (you know there actually flirting) and watching them come together in the end is awesome.
