About the book:

From Rhyannon Byrd, author of Take Me Under, comes yet another sizzling, sensual tale of intrigue, passion, and the most dangerous risk of all…

Five years after the end of his marriage and his career as a detective, Alex Hudson wears a permanent suit of armor to keep the world at bay. Now a PI in South Florida, he believes that he’s better off free of romantic complications—even if a certain beautiful redhead makes him sweat with little more than a look. But he’s determined to steer clear of women and the trouble they bring. Until trouble comes uninvited...

Renowned therapist Brit Cramer has seen her fair share of violence and knows how to handle it. But when a former patient targets Brit as his feminine “ideal,” she finds help in the last place she ever expected—the tall, dark, outrageously sexy Alex Hudson, who saves her from a violent attack. Brit’s been powerfully attracted to Alex from the moment they first met several years ago, but she knew better than to do more than enjoy the view…

The initial uncertainty they both feel shatters in the face of a searing, absolute desire, but their time is running out as they find themselves caught in the sights of a madman who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Before they know it, they’re fighting not only for their lives, but for the possibility that they may have both found exactly what they’ve always wanted and needed...in each other.

My Thoughts:
If you want to romance to light some fires, Keep Me Closer is a scorcher!

Brit Cramer has been attracted to Alex Hudson ever since she moved to Moss Beach, that is until he opened his obnoxious mouth.  Well, still, even then but she’s not happy about being attracted to the prick. The gorgeous private investigator is rude as hell! When a patient melts down and becomes obsessed with Brit, Alex saves her from an attack and she ends up under his protective care.  Brit’s not happy about that one bit which is unfortunate because Alex won’t let her out of his sight.

Alex has sworn off relationships after a messy divorce burned him five years ago.  His immediate, intense attraction to Brit Cramer had him in a panic the minute he laid eyes on her so he made sure to behave like an ass to keep her at arm’s length.  Alex senses that Brit would mean more to him that his usual flings and he’s wants nothing to do with a messy entanglement. But when a crazy attacker targets Brit, his protective instincts come roaring to life, and he won’t let anyone else step in to make sure she’s safe. Alex knows now that Brit’s in close proximity it’s only a matter of time before they give into the powerful draw between them, but he no longer cares.

Whoa! Talk about some sizzle! This was one smoking hot read, and it completely sucked me in from page one.  Action, danger and scenes hot enough to incinerate my panties had me flipping the pages eagerly to see what would happen next.  I loved Brit from the beginning, even though I think she forgave something a little too easily, I let it slide because sometimes you just can’t fight a burning attraction! Alex needed a slap upside the head (or maybe two!) but I as soon as I discovered the details of his divorce I understood his initial reservation.  The fact that he cared so much about Brit’s safety also made me cut the guy some slack.

Keep Me Closer was an addictive romance with steam in epic proportions!  I really want to go back and check out the first in this series, Take Me Under since I’m finding the Hudson Brothers quite irresistible!
