About the book: It was only supposed to last one night...

Ian had no idea the sexy woman he took to his bed was his little sister's best friend--or that she'd refuse to give him more than one night.

Good thing this soldier likes a challenge...

My Thoughts:
Holy Hot Tamales, did this start off with a bang (or two, lol!)!!  Seriously, though, Chasing Mrs. Right started off a little similar to the first book, Wrong Bed, Right Guy in the way that two people end up together in a very *ahem* compromising way with someone unexpected.  I loved both stories.

I should mention that you don’t have to read Wrong Bed,Right Guy first to enjoy this, but if you haven’t read it yet, GET ON IT!

Okay, back to the story.  Ian has just come back from serving in Afghanistan and it’s really done a number on him.  He’s filled with anxiety, sleepless nights, and has a hard time dealing with crowds and loud noises.  Setting foot in a club/restaurant for his homecoming party put him on the edge of a panic attack.

Roxanne has her own issues.  Being raised by a mother who has taught her than every man leaves eventually, and saying “I love you” is code for “cut and run” she has major commitment issues.  She does not want to end up hurt so she keeps all men at arm’s length.

Ian and Roxanne literally collide when Ian has a panic attack that sends him running out of the club, and barreling into Roxanne.   SPARKS FLY while he’s bandaging her up, and they go from hot to fiery in about two seconds.  They can’t keep their hands off of each other!!  This leads to a one-night stand, or so they think, lol!  Turns out they have an unavoidable connection and things have just got interesting!!

Let me tell you the opening scene was sizzling!! Katee Robert knows how to hook you from the very first chapter!

“Ideally, how’s tonight end for you?” ---No way was she giving him time to come up with some careful, PC answer.  She wanted the truth.  “Answer now.”
She got exactly what she was looking for.  He met her gaze directly. “With you bent over the nearest available surface and me f&%#ing you until we both forget our names.”

Whoa!

If Roxanne thought she’d be rid of Ian in one night, she was sadly mistaken.  She’s skittish as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs, but Ian is good at soothing and coaxing.  One thing he’s learned while being in the military is you never approach a difficult problem without a plan, and he has plans for Roxanne!!

What starts out as a story revolving around steamy hot sex evolves into something more.  Roxanne and Ian find comfort, reassurance, and understanding in each other’s company.  I enjoyed seeing Roxanne’s barriers melt away, and Ian’s soul calm and center with Roxanne.  Love it when my spicy reads are not just spicy reads, and Chasing Mrs. Right was more!!

Like I said in the beginning this is book two in a series but it wouldn’t be necessary to read book one (Wrong Bed, Right Guy) to enjoy this.  We get glimpses of the previous couple throughout the story so it was nice for me to have read it before, but I don’t think it would impact your pleasure in reading this.  Katee Robert writes SMOKING HOT stories with a lovely story underneath.

    1. I've often said the same thing, Angela, and in front of my husband!! Joking obviously because then I'd have to give him a free pass with some actress, right? ;)

  3. I have never had a one night stand...I am too emotionally attached with sex. I wouldn't have been able o have sex with someone I wasn't somewhat attached to.

    1. I agree it would be hard, Dawn. I couldn't separate my emotions either. In these stories the one night stands turn into much more, which is way more to my liking! :)

  13. Well I'm married with 3 kids now but if I ever found myself single I just might depending on the guy. He would have to be worth it in the looks department.

  15. I'm married & even if I was single, I'm not sure that I would have a one night stand. Alot would depend on if I did.
